American Electric Power
Imagine a making the main entrance of your downtown headquarters to be pedestrian oriented to under antiquated car culture planning…
Client Vision
Our initial project with AEP was to redesign the plaza at their main building located in downtown Columbus. The plaza had been designed to be more car-centric and was not conducive to the growing pedestrian nature of the area.
Challenges that were Overcome
The client desired to re-use existing granite pavers. Also, there were occupied spaces under the plaza that needed to remain watertight with an easily maintainable roof system. We incorporated the existing pavers into a pedestal system that would allow the client to quickly and easily get to the new membrane system for repair purposes. There was also a precast/pull-away transformer vault cover with a green roof tray system incorporated.
